Ushana 1.32 - 35
A child born from illicit sex between a Brahmin male & a Vaishya female is of the Kumhar (Potter) Caste. The livelihood of Kumhars is from making utensils from soil or potteries.
Naayi (Barbers) have the same origin, who trim hairs during birth & death events. These are called Naapits because of trimming hairs above Naabhi (navel).
When these roam hither and thither, they're called Kayasthas. Kayasthas are named so because of their agility like a Kaak (crow), cruelty like Yamraaj (god of death) and cutting skills like Sthapati (carpenter). To attribute these 3 qualities, the first alphabets of these words are taken to refer to Kayasthas.
