What is this?

Can anyone identify this jelly fish like thing? It is more or less the size of a thumbnail.

Google on "Irukandji' and see the images. It closely matches the images in the pic....though I know that Irukandgi is mostly colourless very difficut to detect with naked eyes. This jelly fish is the most poisonous organism know to man. Its a recent discovery and very few clinics in the world have managed to successfully persons stung by this fish.


This is the deadly Irukandji fish, but my 'discovery' is different from this in some ways:

1) mine is a cobalt blue in colour, while Irukandji is transparent
2) Irukandji has only 4 tentacles, mine has more than four.
3) this was found in India, whereas Irukandji is supposedly found only in Australian beaches

Observation Baba

Saw this billboard near Gemini Flyover a long time back, coming back from Marina Beach.

First billboard is about the godman Sai Baba's visit to Chennai; the second is an ad for a radio station - someone imitating thala Rajni's Baba. The caption for the second says "Beware of duplicates". Just wondering, towards which Baba is this comment directed? hmm...

This is a sight now very common even in Tamil Nadu - a bunch of northies travelling in a home-made caravan, selling very "powerful" medicines that can cure "all diseases". You can see one on road-side, in a black tent with a board explaining the cures - this is one such picture, very funny!!

it is june 2007, and the "exciting weekend cruise" is limited to the stretch between Madhya Kailash and Tidel Park, after which the road has completely disappeared and became a dirt track, with big ditches filled with water rotting on either sides of the road (can water actually rot?).

Feb 2004:
As of now, there is MRTS service from Beach Station to the Thiruvanmiyur-Taramani junction. It is said that before long the service would be extended to Velachery.

Nothing has changed. and the stations still haven't been completed.
People's expectation: Work on the Thiruvanmiyur-Velachery project (Thiruvanmiyur is halfway between Thirumylai-Velachery) is expected to be completed by this year-end.

Flyovers
And, we've been waiting for the completion of Padi flyover for many years now, they constantly say it will be over by the end of this year. It's like the government is Sausage Charlie, and we the Turkish tell Charlie - "It was two years five years ago."
